近年来，在线数据的易得与计算方法的普及，共同驱动了计算社会科学的产生。当前，这一新兴的研究取向仍在发展之中。计算传播学是计算社会科学在新闻传播研究中的应用。其所用数据包括用户日志、网页内容、在线实验等，加以经典的统计方法及新兴的计算方法。新数据+新方法的使用，尚未催生一个崭新的传播学研究范式，但是已经为我们提供了大量更精准和可靠的证据，以重新审视经典传播学中的一系列核心理论观念。

主讲人简介
Jonathan J.H. Zhu (Ph.D., Indiana University, 1990) is a Chair Professor of Computational Social Science at City University of Hong Kong, where he shares a joint appointment between the Department of Media & Communication and the School of Data Science and directs the Centre for Communication Research and the Web Mining Lab. He has served on the editorial board of several leading journals of SSCI-Communication, including Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Communication Research, and Human Communication Research. He was elected to ICA Fellow in 2018.
